Coordinator of Human Formation
448. The coordinator of human formation is a priest who coordinates the human formation program of the seminary 510 in collaboration with the rector, other members of the community of formators, professors, and specialists. He works in the external forum as an agent of the rector. The coordinator of human formation may also oversee the discipline of the seminary and the implementation of the Rule of Life. He should be exem plary for his personal maturity, pastoral experience, and appreciation of the psychological and human sciences. The coordinator oversees the annual evaluation process of semi narians. The evaluation of seminarians can benefit from a team or group of priest formators assisting in the process. The coordinator of human formation makes provision for psycho logical and counseling services in areas distinct from spiritual direction. These services are made available to seminarians for their personal and emotional development in preparation for the priesthood. The coun seling given should be consistent with the policy and practice of the total seminary program. The coordinator should ensure that those employed as counselors for seminarians are well versed in and supportive of the Church’s expectations of seminarians, including a sound understanding and acceptance of Christian anthropology. Priest Formators Priest formators monitor seminarians assigned to them in all four areas of formation, and they assist in the evaluation process. Priest formators must be exemplary in their dedication to the Church and to the ministerial priesthood.
